I have made a handful of orders with Ames and happy with quality of product. I recently ordered a part which in the catalogue advised it fit my 1968 Pontiac. Part did not fit as Pontiac transitioned this part between 67 and 68 so there were two possible parts. Unfortunately I had to eat the shipping both ways to return this item to Ames.
I ordered a Convertible Top and other parts for my 69 Firebird. It arrived in New Zealand within 2 weeks, exactly what I had ordered and competitively priced. I thoroughly recommend Aimes.
What I appreciate is they will tell you if the part you are ordering is ill-fitting or a high quality piece. Sometimes the only repop part available out there is junk but at least Ames will tell you beforehand. Then you decide if you want it. I have had run-ins with other restoration companies that just do not care. I had ordered window vent handles from their competitor and when they arrived they had pits and terrible chroming. “That’s what you get” was their answer to me when I called. You do not get that with Ames!
